Purchasing a ready to wear garment can sometimes be a minefield. You leave the store with a garment that seems perfect, but when you get it home and try it on again, it just doesn't feel right. It gapes a little at the neckline, leaving you feeling vulnerable and exposed. The trouser legs are too wide across the thigh, so you look larger than you really are. You can't tell what the problem is, you just know that you don't feel great in it. The way it makes you feel stops you wearing your purchase - you leave it hanging in the wardrobe, or return it to the shop, even if it breaks your heart to do so, as it's "nearly perfect".
That's where I step in.
I provide a fitting and alterations service, from simple alterations such as shortening trousers, all the way to fitting the bodice of a strapless dress. I am also able to repair items, replacing broken zips, for example.
Each alteration is evaluated on an individual basis, so I regret that I'm unable to give you prices over the telephone, except as a guesstimate.
Please allow a minimum of 7 days for all alterations. Multiple alterations to one garment, or multiple garments could take much longer, but I'll always try to meet any specific dates you have if you let me know at the appointment.
Turnaround times depend on the number of orders I'm already working on. Work is undertaken on a "first come first served" basis at all times.
